Headline
Got featured on one of the better dating review sites - there are nearly as many of them as there are dating sites..... Anyway, for anyone interested: http://www.onlinedatinghelp.co.uk/blog/
Thoughts on CLY
It
has all along been the intention to not treat mental health issues as a disease
- more of a challenge. For me, it is something that should be embraced,
not cured. And once you have come to terms with your condition you might want
to interact with other people in the same boat.
Admittedly, it's a tough sell - selling a dating
site is hard enough, with never ending competition. But selling it to people
who struggle with mental health on top of it, there is suddenly another obstacle to overcome. It is
not the case I don't take mental health seriously, on the contrary - I know
what it's like being alone in the world. Crazy Like You is my way of coping.

Skye isn't too bad
It really isn't - but then again, I moved here for a reason - because it wouldn't be too bad :)

Emails
So, Crazy Like You sent out an email campaign yesterday, to members who had already signed up. There were a few un-subscribers, which is perfectly understandable. What I don't understand is the "Complaints". These individuals mark the mail as junk, despite having signed up for it themselves. That's not really fair. I did everything by the book, even spent extra money having the email sent out by a reputable company. I am aware of at least one email address that had been signed up without wanting to be, but it is a bit frustrating that when you try to do everything as it should be done, you still get marked as spam. Apart from the aforementioned person (who immediately had her account deleted), you decided you wanted these emails.
Mood Swings
Hmmm, that title covers quite a bit.... All I really wanted to say is that my swings have been significantly reduced over the last year or so. And since moving to Isle of Skye, they're just about absent. I know perfectly well they'll be back, but I'm ready. Sort of.
Online Marketing
Why is there a post on online marketing in this bipolar forum? Well, as readers who have been with me a while will know, my website requires me to do this. Not that I really want to, I just want people to come and join :). It is a balancing act to make sure one doesn't offend people, a line I've crossed a few times. But if I did nothing, I might as well not bother. I need to remember that a lot of people are not interested or ready for this site, so posting in certain forums could well backfire.

Online Dating For People With Mental Health Issues
My new Crazy Like You website has finally gone live at www.crazylikeyou.com. It started as a bit of a pet project, having an online networking/dating site for people like me with challenging mental health who want to find romance. But as it now has over 2,000 members, and will hopefully keep on growing. Have a look and let me know what you think.
